Emanuel Robert Graf has studied under Prof. Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt in Dresden since 2004, and has been his assistant at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar since 2009. Master classes attended with Wolfgang Boettcher, Jens Peter Maintz, David Geringas, Wen-Sinn Yang, Ana Chumanchenco, Götz Teutsch and others.

accompanied by the Baden-Baden Philharmonie, he gave his debut as a soloist with the cello concerto no.1 by D. Schostakowitsch. Further solo appearances followed with various orchestras such as the Hamburger Sinfonikern, Kammerphilharmonie Baden-Württemberg, International Mahler Orchestra in the Berliner Philharmonie, Theater Freiberg, and the Khemelnitzkiy Symphonikern.
He is 1st solo cellist of the International Mahler Orchestra and plays as a guest as 1st solo cellist for the German Opera House in Berlin and the Staatstheater Darmstadt. He performs with conductors such as Martin Turnowski, Donald Runnicles, David Afkham, Yoel Gamzou and Manfred Honeck.
Emanuel Graf is a popular chamber musician. International tours have led him to many lands including Poland, South Africa, Egypt, Scandinavia, France, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, and the Ukraine. In 2011, a CD of the Brahms Double Concerto was launched by the Animato label where he plays together with his sister Elena Graf. He also plays the Toscanini Testore from the 18th century.
