Dead Bunny, Pop
Biography
Dead Bunny were the winners of this year’s Demotape Clinic at the m4music Festival in Zurich, and won the «Demo of the Year 2011» award.
The rabbit died the death of a martyr in 2008 – Dead Bunny was born. The rock-trio from Bern includes the following names: Thomas Schmidiger (vocals, guitar), Fabian Lötscher (bass, vocals) and Beni Bucher (drums). If you just look at the surnames, you might think that the group is a yodel formation from deep in the mountains; but once the lads get on stage, there is no doubting their music style as they blast away with their electric guitars.
The three men gained experience with Soundscape (rock, alternative) from Lucerne and Go Go Ghouls (60s rock) from Bern, and performed for the first time on the Swiss stage as Dead Bunny at the beginning of 2011 with their debut LP. The young band took off straight away: Dead Bunny have gained the “right” to perform on the Waldbühne at Gurten and at the end of March, they walked away with the main award of the Demotape Clinic at the m4music-Festival.
Dead Bunny have found their niche. Their music can be described as unpolished, direct, particularly powerful rock with appealing American influences. Dead Bunny belt out multi-layered, classic rock songs on the stage with an almost cheeky ease and as if poured from a mould. As if there could be nothing simpler.
