Born Franco-Swiss in 1989 and educated in a Russian school, François-Xavier Poizat began his career at the age of 12 when he performed in Japan for the Pacific Music Festival.
He went on to play concerts in Switzerland, France, Germany, Russia, China, Japan, Canada and Poland in various festivals and with orchestras such as l'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, l'Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse and the Poznan Philharmonic.
He is the first Swiss musician to be recognised in the Tchaikovsky Competition, having won the jury's special award in 2011.
In parallel to his career as a pianist, François-Xavier Poizat is the artistic director of several international festivals. He has released his first CD, the 4th Concerto of Xaver Scharwenka, with the Poznan Philharmonic.
François-Xavier Poizat received a scholarship from the Leenaards Foundation in 2007 and the Migros Student Prize in 2011. He is the official endorser of Les Amis des Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève.
